Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Online Catalogue and click on any items that you wish to buy by putting them into the shopping basket. After you have finished your selection, click on "Checkout" and you will be asked for further details to fulfill your order.

We accept payment by credit and debit card: Visa, MasterCard and switch. (We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped).

If you do not have a credit / debit card and would prefer to pay by cheque, full payment is required before an order can be dispatched. Cheques should be made payable to Martin's of Castle Cary and sent to

It is advisable to place orders at least two working days before the required delivery date. Although we can accept orders until 11.00am on the day before they are required

Please make sure that all addresses are accurate and include a postcode, together with the recipients phone number where possible, this helps us deliver speedily and accurately.

When we receive your order, we will email you with an order confirmation. If we are no longer able to supply a particular number or there is a price change, we will contact you first.

If you make a mistake placing your order, simply call or email us and we will be happy to help you to rectify your order.

Please note that props are used in the photos and only those items listed are included in the price.

Shipping And Handling

Deliveries are made by courier, or with certain products by First Class Post.

Delivery Schedule

Orders are delivered Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.

Saturday deliveries can be arranged at an extra charge, please contact us for individual pricing.

Delivery prices are shown by each product, and include VAT.

During the Christmas period we will attempt to deliver on the date requested, however due to large demand at this time of year we may opt to deliver the product early to ensure that any problems are remedied before Christmas. The last order day for Christmas is 21.12.05 by 11am.

All parcels must be signed for, in the event of no one being available to sign for the parcel the courier will attempt to deliver the next working day.

Deliveries to UK Mainland only.

Castle Cary Hampers will exercise every reasonable effort to meet the requested dispatch date. You will be notified when your hamper is due for dispatch. Castle Cary Hampers shall not, however, be liable for any loss or damage due to delays or failure to ship resulting from any cause beyond it reasonable control such as but not limiting to securing necessary export licenses, compliance with laws or regulations, acts of god, acts or omissions of the purchaser, acts of civil or military authority, judicial action, defaults of sub contractors or suppliers, labour disputes, delays in transportation, embargoes or wars.

Non-Delivery/Damages
Claims for non-delivery must be made within 28 days of dispatch of the goods. Claims for damaged goods must be made within 3 days of receipt of the goods.

Quotations
Quotations are given on the basis of cost at the time of issue. Prices may be amended at any time to reflect the change in cost structure, including any alteration to the rate of VAT.

Substitutions
Castle Cary Hampers endeavour to ensure that the photography and descriptions are accurate, we reserve the right to substitute items of a similar or greater value, if for any reason those stated are unavailable.

Cancellations
Customers have the right to cancel an order up to 7 days prior to dispatch, when a full refund minus any administration costs will be credited to the customer via the same medium by which they paid for the goods.

Any orders cancelled less that 7 days prior to dispatch will be refunded less any charge for perishable lines which cannot be resold.

On line purchasers have the right to cancel an order up to 7 days after receipt of the goods. Where this right is exercised the customer will be refunded the full amount minus the cost of any perishable goods, and any items which have been consumed. All goods must be returned suitably packaged and in good condition.

Tax Charges

VAT is charged at the current rate on applicable products.

Credit Card Security

All credit and debit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using SSL. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any website.

All returns must be sent to Martin's of Castle Cary, Market Place, Castle Cary, Somerset, BA7 7AH. Full instructions for this are included on the dispatch note which accompanies your order. This will ensure that we can action your request as quickly as possible. You have a statutory right to cancel your order and receive a full refund within 7 working days after receipt of goods. Your right to return goods is protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm

Alcohol
Alcohol is only available for sale to persons aged 18 or over. By placing an order you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
